I'm glad you wrote. I believe it means that he feels a great deal of emotion for you. However, emotions can fade in time. His actions is what will let you know if he really respects you with the kind of love that will last.

Anyone without Jesus in their life is not going to be completely stable in love because love comes from God. Through salvation and our love for Jesus, along with growing in truth from what we learn from His Word, creates a stable, long lived, unselfish type of love. True love is a Fruit of the Holy Spirit. God's Spirit produces it in us as we learn His way of living and doing from the His Holy Bible. Relationships without the Lord are never as full of happiness, joy and security as ones with Jesus in the center. And those that appear happy without the Lord, only have a lifetime to enjoy each other; where those with Jesus as head of their household has an eternity to spend together.

The freedom to love and grow into the fullness of love over the years, as God intends a couple to do, is is only found by following the rules He set in His Word as instructions for intimate relationships. Without God's guidance and the safety of following His word Satan is free to create his interference in the love relationship with premature sex, jealousy, fear, unfaithfulness, selfishness and so on.
