If God takes His Holy Spirit back, can you get it again? Please pray for me. I am and have been under serious warfare. Every facet of my life has been affected, but recently the spiritual has come to the forefront and now I have lost my salvation. I disobeyed/didn't follow instructions/got distracted, deceived, rebelled.... I'm in trouble. I want God to take me back.
There were so many 'players' in this test I was given--My physical health (blood disorder, digestive and eliminating systems, autoimmune, etc--too many to list) is in dire shape, no one knows what to do. The enemy steals kills, destroys.... Well, I am proof.
I've also walked into doors I shouldn't have -- very dangerous ones where I let two people (unclean, likely laden w/enemy) lay hands on and pray for me, even anoint me-- both times I had serious ramifications (demonic) after being touched, etc, by them. Especially this last time--what/whoever this was definitely tainted.
The answer to your question, can you get the Holy Spirit back into your life again, is absolutely yes.
God never takes his Holy Spirit back from a person. It's a person's desire and actions that keeps the Holy Spirit from working in their life.
James 1:13-15 When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
According to the scriptures God sent his Holy Spirit (the third person in the Trinity, Matthew 28:18-19) to the earth on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-21) to work drawing people closer to Him. The Holy Spirit is everywhere doing the will of God. He hasn't gone anywhere; you're just not in contact with him through the power of salvation in Jesus Christ. However, He is drawing you now or you wouldn't have asked your question.
God has given each individual freedom to choose, therefore, we sever our own relationship with God when we choose the path that Satan plants in our mind. Training our mind by reading and meditating on the scripture keeps it busy and unavailable for Satan's temptations.
It's the Holy Spirit that brings a person into a place of conviction that leads to salvation or correction.
Don't fall prey to man's condemnation, which makes you feel wrong with little self-worth and no hope for anything better. That's not of God. He loves you dearly. Every person is unique and He puts great value on the individuality that each one brings to his family. When we do wrong the Holy Spirit convicts us for the purpose of drawing us back into God's kingdom; not to condemn us but to save us.
John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
God wants us to leave our life of sin and shame and walk in His freedom of truth and righteousness. You must believe that you are special in God's eyes and return to him quickly by going to our Salvation Prayer page and rededicating your life to Jesus.
Then draw close to God through water baptism, taking communion and seeking the in-filling of the Holy Spirit (as in the Book of Acts) so that you will receive God's power. His power will give you the strength to withstand the temptations of this world and to be a good witness.
Acts 1:8 you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Read the Word daily, praying for knowledge and wisdom. Believe what it says and be obedient to the instructions you find. The Holy Spirit will help you turn your life around if you take the first steps. I find that just reading a scripture and verbally agreeing with it activates God's help and makes the change easier.
2Timothy 2:15-16 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.
Sing to the Lord and worship him with all your heart; it allows the Holy Spirit to move and direct your spirit in the right ways.
John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Next, find a good church; I mean a really good church that will excite you with the good news of Jesus Christ and the truth of God's Word. Read my article on How To Find The Right Church.
Also read my article God's Anointing On TV And The Internet. Especially, go to Kenneth Copeland's Ministries and begin to listen to all of Gloria's past lessons on healing so you receive the anointing to be restored in your body quickly. If you are anywhere near one of their services by all means go and let her or Kenneth pray for you. Don't allow any doubt to enter your mind or cross your lips. Confess your healing and thank him for it. God will heal you because he loves you!
God has great prosperity in store for you in every area of life, just stay close to Jesus. I've had so many miracles and healings; some I never would have lived through if God had not shown mercy toward me. He will do the same for you. He wants you back in his kingdom as a vessel he can use as a testimony of his greatness.
Yes the Holy Spirt is more than ready to come back into your life and in a way that will overwhelm you as He works to teach you, day by day, the knowledge and wisdom of God.
Your story is similar to The Prodigal Son found in Luke 15:11-32. God is even more pleased to get you back than that boy's father was.
Heaven is excited about you coming home.
Luke 15:3-7 Then Jesus told them this parable: "Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, `Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
Luke 15: 8-10 "Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, `Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
