Will God tell you who your husband is? And if so how do we know it is God!

Q
Will God tell you who your husband is? And if so how do we know it is God! I was reunited with an old friend from years back, and before it goes any further I went to God to ask. I don't want to make another mistake.

God speaks the loudest to us through his written word, The Holy Bible. He never gives us anything in our heart or mind that contradicts his word. Fear and doubt never come from God and if it's present in the event you're experiencing then take it to God in prayer until peace fills your heart and it's backed up by scripture. You may want to read my article on How To Know If You're Really Hearing From God.

The best way to know if a person is suited for you is to look at the way they speak and act. Is it in accordance with the Bible? God matches His people together, those that make Jesus Lord over their lives. Does this man read his Bible, pray, listen to God's anointed preachers on TV or go to church? Is he reluctant in doing any of these things when you ask him to participate with you? If he has a heart for God and you have a heart for God then you will have a match made in heaven.

2 Corinthians 6:14-15 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?

1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character."

If either you or your old friend is not saved, go to our Salvation Prayer page and give your heart to the Lord. If you are, rededicate your lives to God together and allow your relationship to begin to grow. With Jesus as your partner, God will bless you and prosper the love you have. Obedience to God's word is your safety and when you read His Word and pray together, God is there. Matthew 18:19-20 "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

It's important to your relationship that you attend church together. If you don't currently have a church, my article How To Find The Right Church will give you guidelines that can help you find a place where you can grow strong together in the Spirit of God.
