Whenever I call my mom on the phone, we chat, then at the end we say bye, but only in e-mails we say love you. She hardly ever picks me up on the weekends, but if I get a bus to go see her then she'll pick me up. I was wondering, how can I tell if she still loves me? Do you think she does?. A
Dear R, I'm sure your Mom still loves you. She may be very busy or pre-occupied sometimes. It would be good for you to have a sweet loving talk with her and let her know how you feel. Sometimes when a person no longer lives in the same house with their child they don't quite know what that child needs or wants from them. She could simply be afraid of doing something wrong to anger you. She many feel that if she demands anything in your relationship it will hurt what she does have with you. Insecurity in a parent's relationship with their child can be an awful thing; so have a talk with her about your feelings and then pray together if she will let you. If she won't pray with you then you pray for her, and pray daily for her so God will get a hold of her heart. The Lord loves you and her too. He wants families to be together and caring for each other; so pray often and believe that he will help her. The closer you can get her to God the more love she will have for you. Reading the Bible, praying and worshiping God pleases Him and in return he answers our prayers and does many things to please us. God really loves you! May God bless you richly, Cherie |
