Q

I believe that there are some hidden powers in every child, which disappear with his growing age and become neutral after teen age. Is it true, if yes what are those. Can you put light on this subject.

With Thanks & Regards

A

No, this is not true according to God's Bible. However, Zechariah and Elizabeth had a son, John, that was born filled with the Holy Spirit. He was special because his ministry was to announce the coming of Jesus, son of the Living God.

Luke 1:11-15 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John. He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth.

Children are born innocent. However, they have what's called a "sinful nature" meaning that the human nature is weak and easily influenced by the evils of Satan. This happened when Adam and Eve lost faith in God's commandment and ate the forbidden fruit. As children grow and learn good from bad they make choices that affect their life as well as their eternity. Many children repent and give their heart to the Lord at a very early age and live a lifetime in the presence of God's protection and power. But a child that choose to do wrong will need to repent and accept Jesus as their Lord, just as an adult does. God holds each person responsible for their own choice of where they will spend eternity.

When a child passes into eternity through death God's grace (unearned favor) covers them. He is the one who decides how much that child knew about right and wrong and how much choice they had in making their own decisions. He is a good God and very forgiving. But when a person gets to an age and ability that God knows they are capable of learning His Word, he expects them to read and receive what He has written down in the Bible. He wants us to know Him and have fellowship with him and his Son, Jesus Christ, so that he can strengthen us and bless us in every area of our lives.

If you have not repented of your sins, or know of someone who needs the joy of salvation in their life, please go to our Salvation Prayer page.

God really loves you.

Thank you for writing and may God truly bless you.
