The Bible is the main resource needed for life; I like the NIV version because it is easier to understand, and one should always read the New Testament several times before attempting to read the Old Testament.
Since God created us, we should continually search His Holy Bible for answers to our own individual lives. The Bible is a love book of instructions filled with good and wonderful things that God will miraculously do for us, but only if we obey what He has written in the scriptures. The more we obey and do, the more benefits He provides for us. If a person repents of his/her sins and accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior then a covenant (or contract that is written in the blood of Jesus) is formed between God and that individual. God will always fulfill his portion of the covenant agreement. For instance:
The first commandment with a promise is Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long ....
There is a direct promise for those, in covenant with God, if they respect and honor their parents. This does not say anything about how the parents have to act or behave or the need to earn this honor. All the promise is based on is how a person treats their parents, it doesn't even matter how the parents have treated that child. It also gives no age limits. There is no promises given for those that are not in covenant with God, and their death many times is left up to circumstances; which at times can allow evil to play a part in their death.
Tithing 10% of you income is another covenant agreement. It produces financial stability while seed offerings which are above your tithes will produce increases somewhere in your life thirty, sixty or even a hundred times (ref. Matthew, Mark, Luke). Keep in mind that your money needs to be invested in to a ministry that is producing the most for God, therefore your return is greater.
Speaking, believing and using the Bible's healing scriptures will produce healing in your life; while talking about being sick pushes the power of God away and sure enough Satin will move in to deliver a dose of whatever your confessing.
But the most important scripture for Christians to live by is: Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. Faith produces guidance from the Holy Spirit in a person's life; and who knows more about what we need or what's in the future than God?
Receiving God's faith is receiving His power to produce goodness and prosperity in every area of your life. Faith only comes from hearing or reading the word of God. You can't pray it into your life or receive it from someone else. If you listen to preachers it only counts if they are truly scriptural in their preaching, therefore you must know what's in the Bible. You can check any person, especially one who is going to teach you by these scriptures:
Galatians 5:22-24 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. ... Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
Matthew 7:15-20 "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
Faith grows over time as you put the word of God into your mind and develop a heart of obedience to His word. As your faith grows it will produce deliverance in different areas of your life as you allow it to fill up your soul with the good things of God (His way of thinking and doing), as in 3John 1:2. Grumbling in your trials will cause your faith to decrease or even die, so always do your best and draw near to God in the hard times.
A good life always needs God as their resource first and foremost. Then He will help you to get the right education, job, car, marriage partner and home. I love belonging to God and find that when He miraculously chooses something for me it always overwhelms me. There is a definite difference between the things I have chosen for my life and what He has chosen; my choices are never anything great like His are.
So begin or continue reading your Bible and read it as though God wrote it personally to you. Believe what you read and ask God what each thing should mean to you. When you see something wrong that someone did ask God to help you never to do anything like that and when you see good things that people do ask God to help you to be like them. He hears everything you say because He loves you and wants to bless you.
Thank you for writing and this is my prayer for you,
2Corinthians 9:10-11 Now He (God) who supplies seed to the sower (you) and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us (any Christian who helps teach you) your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
