Healing Of A Dislocated Thumb Joint   Print
Written by Cherie
t is reassuring to know that God stands behind his word. (For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them. Matthew 18:20) Read this testimony and see how God proved his word to me.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Psalm 34:7
It was the early 1980s, and a new K-Mart store was going up in our neighborhood, so I applied for a part time job. Grand Opening day came and people were enjoying all the sales. But one thing on sale I will never forget. It was cans of oil for car motors. It seemed like I bagged a thousand of them over the week-end. My right hand hurt from stretching my fingers over the top of the cans and, from putting pressure on my thumb to pick them up, it had totally given out. Tucking my thumb into the palm of my hand and holding it snug with my fingers was the only thing that gave it relief.

K-Mart officials were very concerned about my injury. They sent me to their doctor and found jobs that I could do without hurting my hand further. When the doctor finished testing my thumb problem he said I had pulled the cap off the knuckle. I asked if it could be reattached by surgery or if it would grow back together over time. The doctor said no, that it would be a permanent condition, and that the best he could do is to give me pills that would help to alleviate the fluid that would collect under the cap, along with pain pills. He gave me the prescriptions and I began to learn to do things with my thumb tucked into the palm of my hand, including holding a pencil between my two fingers to write without using my thumb. Once again, I had lost partial use of my right hand, but if God healed my little finger before he would surely heal my thumb. After all a thumb is much more important than a little finger, besides this injury was going to be permanently painful and no father wants to see his child in pain. I am so thankful there is no limit on God's blessings for people who love and serve him. (1Corinthians 2:6-9)

Several weeks after my final visit with the doctor, the pastor we'd had when we had lived in Ohio came to Florida for his yearly crusade. We always attended these because the great miracle services were the thing we missed most about living Ohio. In the beginning of the service he offered the New Testament on cassette tapes and I really wanted the tapes to listen to while I did my house work. So I got in line to purchase them and when he handed me the folder of cassettes he shook my right hand. I didn't notice it at the moment but when I sat down I began to feel freedom in my thumb which continued until I had full use of it.

On Monday morning when I went back to work I showed everyone how I could move my thumb all around without one bit of pain and they were amazed, however, management would not let me work again without seeing the doctor.

As I sat on the doctors table and wiggled my thumb, the doctor backed away from me and asked, "What did you do over the weekend?" I replied, "Nothing any different than I always do. I went to church and got a miracle." I stretched my whole arm toward him and ask, "Don't you want to examine it?" He backed away further until he was leaning against the wall. He folded his hands across his chest and put them under his elbows as if to keep them hidden from me and said, "I don't want to touch it. I might hurt it. If it ever hurts again come back to see me." Needless to say, I never went back. God's miracle power is here to stay and even skeptics can't diminish it. Praise God!

Hold on to everything God gives you whether it is a miracle, faith to believe for a miracle or even a flicker of hope for an answer to you need. Never allow the doubt and fear of others to affect your faith for receiving and keeping God's miraculous touch upon your life. (1Thessalonians 5:19-22)

1Corinthians 2:6-9

We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written:
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"

[The preparation God made for us was not just for eternity. But also for here on earth where we have to fight the battles of life.]

1Thessalonians 5:19-22

Do not put out the Spirit's fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.
