he Bible gives us information for what to think about. Thoughts that will clear our mind, heart (which is our desires), as well as our emotions. Godly thoughts allow the Holy Spirit to strengthen us mentally, physically and emotionally, giving us a full and prosperous life.
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers,
whatever is true
whatever is noble
whatever is right
whatever is pure
whatever is lovely
whatever is admirable
if anything is excellent or praiseworthy
think about such things.
Taking control of your own mind is the key to receiving from God. If this is difficult for you then pray for help and begin to read His Word. Your mind will become stronger as you daily read.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
If you're not used to reading God's Word, or feel you don't have time, then start with the New Testament with just a few scriptures a day. You will receive a firm, knowledgeable basis for Jesus and the work of God that can be produced in your life.
Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will.
God loves you and desires The Fruit Of The Spirit to grow in your life, especially joy and peace. When you fill your mind with the things of God you learn where your place is in His family. You learn how to put trials, trouble and the darkness that Satan wants you to accept as truth completely out of your life. You gain freedom by putting Satan's thoughts to flight while trampling him under your feet, where God put him. (Romans 16:19)
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Knowing God's Word gives you power in controlling your mind to receive from God. It gets His attention, then he works out plans to improve your life in a miraculous way that will give Him glory and honor. (Ephesians 1:11, Philippians 2:13, 2 Corinthians 9:8)
1 Peter 5:10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
God always has the answers to solve any situation that comes into our lives, but we must be in a position to receive them.
