How To Receive Healing - Part 3: Its Time For Action   Print
Written by Cherie

ray and Ask for Your Healing

Now that you have a foundation for receiving healing from God proceed with action. Once more, put legs to the faith that you now possess. God honors faith that is acted upon. Never waiver in your faith stand strong until the crisis is over no matter how long it takes. I have received so many healings. Most were very short term problems even when they were life threatening, however, one miracle I received recently took ten years to accomplish, but I never gave up. I always confessed that God would recreate what I needed.

James 2:17 ...faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

Faith is the material God uses to produce everything he does. In the beginning he spoke words creating this world and everything in it. His own speech was faith in action. Down through history people believed God, speaking and acting upon their faith and God miraculously delivered them. Putting actions to what you believe and seeking the Lord with humility and prayer is the communication with God that increases his responsibility for your life. He will change things in your life that aren't right and work out things for your best interest.

Romans 8:28 ...we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Angels wait patiently for us to express verbally and in action the truths of God. When we ask for something that is a promised in His word, like healing, they work diligently for us through God's anointing and His purpose to bless us, bringing about wonderful miraculous rewards.

Resisting The Devil Is A Process Of Steps

Step 1: Know Your Enemy

Quickly assess when, what or how Satan is affecting you. Be sensitive to small details. Look for the cause and effects of all the symptoms for the battle you are having, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, financial etc. If you can quickly find the root for this situation, such as an episode of anger or wrong doing, repent apologize to people as well as God. Learn from it and never let that kind of episode get you into this kind of trouble again. Don't spend a lot of time at this, we want to strip Satan of his power not acknowledge it. Now, take everything you have found out to God in prayer. Biblical fasting produces miracle power, so fast if necessary.

(See below once again in #1: Paragraph 2, Mark 9:28-29 fasting produces God's miracle power for deliverance from demon powers, as in the case of the man's son with the mute spirit.)

(Also read in the book of Ester how a whole nation was delivered and honored from just a three day fast.)

Step 2: Use God's Word, It's Your Sword

The Word of God is the most powerful tool you will ever own. Take it into your heart and use it to put Satan to flight, just as Jesus did. After Jesus fasted forty days and nights, Satan tempted him three times. Jesus didn't give him what he thought as a man, but hit him with the powerful word of God. Satan can't function in the presence of God's word and will always flee. (I see him as tucking his tail and running away.) Jesus took a huge victory that day. He had full authority over every sickness or disease and over every demon. You never hear of Satan tempting him again until he was in the Garden of Gethsemane, ready to give his life to break the power of the curse that sin had place on the human race. Once again Jesus defeated him by bowing to the will of God. We too, can have that same authority through the power of his blood and the knowledge of his word. (See below #4: Matthew 4:1-11 Jesus uses the Word)

Step 3: God's Word Must Bubble In Our Lives

Matthew 12:43-45 "When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, `I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first...(NIV)

Demons hang around after they have been put to flight; they want back in to weaken our mental, physical and eventually our spiritual condition. The only way to keep them out is by the Word of God bubbling in our life, so fill yourself with the word. Jesus was always teaching and talking the word. If the word is truly living in you, then you have the same authority as Jesus had. Speak the "truth of the scriptures" continually and especially the moment you feel Satan's attempt to affect your mind or body. Claim the word over every aspect of your life and the lives of those you love. Then Satan has no options, he must flee.

If you feel you don't know the scriptures well enough to use them, use as much as you know. Meanwhile, get them on tape or CDs and pour them into you along with reading your Bible. Faith will come quickly like with the crippled man who was lame from birth, he believed when he heard Paul speaking the gospel. Paul saw his faith, prayed for him and he jumped up and began to walk. (See below #5: Acts 14:8-10 crippled man healed)

Step 4: Prepare For Battle

Don't let problems, disappointments, health issues or even a cold catch you off guard. Practice scriptures and phrases to use when trouble strikes. I have used phrases like:

  1. "I don't have to have (name the problem) I am touching Jesus, his power makes you flee (name the problem/sickness) and I'm healed and delivered in the name of Jesus. Thank you Jesus for what you are doing for me. Thank you for your great power.

[Taken from Mark 5:27-29 having heard the things concerning Jesus, (the woman, who had an issue of blood) came in the crowd behind, and touched his garment. For she said, if I touch but his garments, I shall be made whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her plague. (ASV)]

  2. I rebuke you (problem/sickness) and The Lord rebukes you too. Thank you Lord for my great deliverance you are giving me today.

[Taken from Jude 1:9 when Michael the archangel was contending with the devil over the body of Moses the Lord rebuked Satan, and Exodus 14:13 Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. (NKJV)]

  3. Jesus sends forth his word and heals me. Thank you, Jesus, for the power of your word.

[Taken from Psalm 107:20 He sent forth his word and healed them; (NIV)]

  4. "I plead the blood of Jesus over (pain/sickness/problems) his blood paid the full price for my deliverance/good health." Thank you, Jesus, for the power of your blood.

[Taken from Isaiah 53:4-5 surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed (value/admire) Him stricken, smitten by God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. (NKJV)]

Accepting everything Jesus did for us places us under his blood. His power breaks all types of bondages, sin, sickness, weakness, mental, stress, financial difficulties, etc. He carried our sorrows and pain for all areas of our lives, whatever you can think of Jesus has a plan of deliverance for. His blood was sinless (from his Father, God) therefore when it was shed for our sins and we accept it as our salvation we received the right to declare its power. Through our faith we are now able to dismantle any problem that may rise to steal the peace that God has given us.

  5. "I don't live under your curse (Satan); I live under the authority of Jesus so (pain/sickness/problem) be gone." [Taken from 1 Corinthians 7:23 You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness (sinless blood) and paid for by Christ... (AMP)

When Adam and Eve sinned they left God's authority and began living under Satan's curse. They were now subject to his evil rule of selfish desire and the world system of sin and death. Satan still rules over anyone willing to stay in his system by not accepting the resurrected Christ. We, however, have accepted the redemption of our Lord, Jesus and belong to the family God.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit who lives within you, whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, you were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness (Jesus' blood) and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body. (AMP)

We can now be free from Satan's curse. God's authority can now rule in our spirits, minds and bodies with great power and freedom. Our healthy bodies can bring glory to God spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally. If we allow his authority to flow through our lives like living water he will protect us and deliver us from all of Satan's attacks. You can put Satan and all his demons to flight by knowing who you are in the Lord.

Galatians 4:4-7 But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

Jesus striped Satan of all his power over 2,000 years ago, when he died on the cross, therefore, Satan is nothing more than a bully taking advantage of people who lack in God's powerful knowledge. God loves us and has provided so many scriptures for us that will put every demon to flight. We have full rights, just as Jesus did, to use the authority of God's Word. The quicker you dismantle Satan's attacks the less effect they will have in your life. There is great strength and joy in knowing that Jesus is always ready to help you in using God's powerful word.

Step 5: Confess With Your Mouth

Romans 10: 8-11 ..."The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." (NIV)

Being never put to shame is ongoing, continuous salvation from the curse that Satan continually wants to put on us.

Salvation: a saving or being saved from danger, evil, difficulty, destruction, etc.; preservation or rescue; deliverance from sin and from the penalties of sin; (Webster's Dictionary)

Salvation is not just for your soul. It's also for your body, your mind and anything you need to be prosperous and happy in the family of God. Confessing with your mouth about what the Bible says concerning your case, whether it's for healing, finances or any other area of your life is the key to salvation for that problem. We are to call things that are not as though they are.

Romans 4:16-17 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring--not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham (Gentile Believers). He is the father of us all; as it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He (Abraham) is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed--the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were. (NIV)

The truths of the Bible are promises from God to us. Through faith and the Spirit of the Lord we can speak those truths, such as healing, blessings, favor etc., just as God speaks, as if it already existed. That kind of strong faith in God's ability to do for his children pleases him. And anything that pleases God, he responds to.

Step 6: See A New Beginning

Don't look at your situation as it was. Now that you have taken it to God in prayer look at it like God is now looking at it, with all the excitement and excellence that victory will bring.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (NIV)

This type of hope is an unchanging confidence in God; a certainty that what he said in his word he will do. So in your thinking see what God is doing for you, see the finished miracle and give him praise, thanksgiving and glory. Confess and rejoice in what will be and never let go of your confession.
